As 3D printers become more accessible to consumers, especially considering price points, more retail stores around the world will offer the hardware in-store. Retail giant Staples, which has more than 2,000 stores in 26 countries, has already been offering 3D printers in select retail locations in the US. Now, Staples has announced a new partnership with Germany-based iGo3D, that country's leading 3D printer distributor -- through this collaboration, iGo3D will set up a 'store in a store' in Staples' store in Hamburg, Germany. The pilot space will offer 3D printers from such brands as Zortrax, Ultimaker, XYZPrinting, and BEETHEFIRST, and will even have a full-body scanner to allow customers a 3D printed 'mini-me' for around €99 through their "Shrinkster" setup. The partnership is set to expand through Germany over the next half-year, and then throughout Europe -- and maybe eventually the US.
