    3d Printing Acquisition Targets

Acquisitions are picking up in the 3D printing space at an unprecedented pace. 3DPrint.com's Brian (Me) took a look at some of the goings-on in the field and has come up with a list of three companies he thinks most likely to be acquired in the future. These players all have the potential to be major forces in 3D printing as the technology picks up across ever more advanced fields; with well-connected companies adding them to their portfolios, these still-fairly-small firms could add expertise and funding to their cases, enhancing their standings and offerings. New Matter, the maker of Indiegogo success story the MOD-t 3D printer; Voxel8, maker of a 3D electronics printer; and Organovo, creator of exVive3D branded tissue samples, are all potential acquisition targets for some bigger companies. Find out more details on what makes these companies so desirable, and who I thinks might want in on them, in the full article: http://3dprint.com/50831/acquisition-3d-printing/

The venture backed companies would have been acquired and not bothered to take investment. Since they took investor money they likely are going to hold out and build the company for a few years before selling out. The likely candidates to be acquired are DDD and SSYS, the established players, not the small startups no one has even heard of and haven't even made a dime in profit yet.
