PLA Conditioning / oiling
To help with my ongoing all metal hot end saga and jams - i removed my hotend and did some tests.
My filament is 2.95mm and fairly consistent, however what I have noticed is that it has become difficult to push trough the fin section, probably due to residue from the filament over time.
Does anyone here condition their PLA / add a small amount of oil - does this have significant benefits ?

Err, I wouldn't put oil on PLA and are you sure that your filament is consistent when it is crushed with the extruder gear?
It takes nothing to jamm on the Ultimaker rev1 for example....
Also partial clogged nozzle can be a major pain to deal with. It is not apparent on first look, you have to check if your plastic goes straight down or is curved a little bit.
Do bed magnets deteriorate.
