Students at Cambridge, MA-based NuVu Studios have come up with yet another amazing 3D printed design during one of their short-term projects. The school encourages innovation in trimester, semester, and year-long appointments for a number of lucky students. With the Backcountry IV, students aimed to ease hypothermia as much as possible in high-altitude climbers before they are able to get medical help. In a multi-compartmental design featuring an Arduino Micro to heat up fluids and sterilize them with UV lighting before they trickle through the IV tubing and needle which is held in a 3D printed cuff.
