Open source projects are a great way to get other makers and innovators invested in a project to ensure that it becomes the best it can be. We've seen a wide array of open source projects in the 3D printing field -- but New Jersey-based Graham Sortino's open source liquid fueled rocket engine is the first of its caliber that we've seen. With the engine control based on an Arduino Uno board, the rocket engine is composed of three main parts: an igniter, injector, and main engine body. All parts can be 3D printed, and Sortino had his printed by Shapeways and ExOne -- all for just $400 for the complete setup.
