3D printing is creating all sorts of usable products -- including functional motors and engines. Thingiverse contributer Kyle Jardine, a South African maker, has recently created a 3D printed "Magnetically Levitated Simple Pulse Motor." He's taught himself all he needs to know in order to use his recently purchased Prusa i3 3D printer kit, and working on designs. The motor he's come up with relies on magnetic levitation and a pulse. Jardine's ultimate goal is to contribute to the world's energy needs, and designs like this seem a great sign of encouragement in that direction.
