3D Printed Bricks Help Construct Giant 3D Printed Coccoon-like Structure

Meïsō, a France-based company, has brought together 3D printing and architecture in a way we haven't yet seen: a 3D printed meditation cocoon. Co-founder Alexandre Kournwsky, an industrial designer, delved into 3D printing to further the company's work on flotation tanks when they decided to make a new float center in Paris. Inspired by a MakerBot 3D printer he already had, Kournwsky set to work. It took 3 months, 500 3D printed bricks, and some elbow grease to create the first tank, and it looks like the model is working -- especially when it comes to cost savings. The company saved about €60,000 in the process by using 3D printing for their needs, and the prototype float tank is ready for instillation. The new La Paillasse float space is slated to open in March. Check out more about the process and the company in the full article: http://3dprint.com/45061/3d-printed-float-tanks/
