Makerbot Replicator 2X not able to cancel

My printer will not cancel. It can print, but will not allow me to change filament, level, or choose my print job. Tried to update firmware, but it did not change the current status.

are you printing from SD card or from computer via USB cable?
can you navigate the menu on the Replicator 2X screen with the buttons? (← ↑ → ↓ )
what firmware version does your Replicator 2X has?

a bit more details could narrow down the cause of your problem

I first printed from an SD card, and it would immediately start printing the first file. No access to the buttons.
I removed the SD card - and it became angry and started beeping for me to put the SD card in. No access to the buttons.
I printed from the USB and had no access to the buttons.
I completed a small print job, just to see if it would reset itself once it completed a print. It finishes the print, but then immediately repeats the print job again. No access to the buttons.
It is on the current firmware. I updated it to see if it would reset the settings.
