When exhibition designers at Alsdorf, Germany-based Energeticon needed a life-size, 3D printed, transparent human body for a permanent exhibit, they turned to Materialise. Energeticon, a research and exhibition foundation devoted to teaching the public about energy and advocating for the use of sustainable, renewable sources, is housed in two buildings in a defunct coal-mining complex. The figure, which was produced using Materialise's large-scale, single-piece 3D printing method called Mammoth Stereotyping, will instruct exhibition-goers about how the human body generates energy.
