I'm using Slic3r 1.2.5 (experimental) for my slicing.

Like the title says, at 0.2mm layer height, I get perfect bridging using a number of different speeds (35, 60, 80, 100 mm/s).

However, when I set the layer height to 0.1mm, the bridging fails miserably. Bridge extrusion doesn't seem to be starting until after the nozzle has moved over the gap (i.e. it's extruding over open air instead of starting on a solid end). I've tried the same speeds and a flow ratio of 0.9, 1.0, and 1.1; they all fail.

I know Slic3r 1.2.5 is the experimental release, but the stable release of 1.1.7 also experiences the same failure. Interestingly though, v0.9.9 works at 0.1mm layer height using 150mm/s bridge speed and 0.95 bridge ratio. I just don't want to use v0.9.9 due to lack of features.

Any ideas what could be causing this?
