Dutch designer Thijs de Bruijn has plenty of experience creating interesting figures, and has recently turned to 3D modeling and printing to further his work. He entered a 3D modeling contest for the design of a fighting game character piece of fan art. While he hadn't initially planned to have his creation 3D printed, ultimately it was the next logical step for the impressive character he recreated -- 'Yoshimitsu' from Tekken. He designed the piece using Photoshop and Zbrush, then turned to Hong Kong-based Ownage for 3D printing. When the 3D printed pieces of the figure were assembled, the final Yoshimitsu stood 25 cm tall, and took two weeks to paint; the entire project took Bruijn two months.
