Agreed. Love my e3d, can't believe I wasted so much money on cheaper options
OK. Not sure what "clean up work" entails, but if it's successful please let me know!
what happens when you manually push filament through? do you meet any unusual resistance along the way?
the hexagon is a good hotend from what i've experienced. the problem might be the filament or...
What hotend are you using?
It would be most helpful if you could provide a link to exactly where you got it, so that we can determine whether it is a reputable brand and model.
When it comes to programming, I'm as confused as a cow on astroturf.
By "port" do you mean modifying Marlin to work with the Due/RADDS?
Z homing feedrate is actually lower than my Marlin setting, I don't think that's the problem. However, the Z axis does move normally when not homing so perhaps another homing related setting is off?
The first problem I hit is related to z homing. The X and Y axes home fine, but when I press the "Home Z" button in Cura, the Z motors only make a high-pitched squealing sound. I think this problem...
I'm anticipating problems with the new RADDS board I got to replace my fried RAMPS board, so I've created this thread so that people can ask and answer questions about the board. A list of helpful...
my 40a is probably overkill for any printer
some people have recorded 12"s like mine to pull somewhere around 30a (worst case) so i am definitely on the safe side as far as current goes.
the...
I am using the newest marlin, not makerfarm.
Motherboard is set to BOARD_RAMPS_13_EFB.
Since fan is usually on D9, and it was set to 16 in pins.h, I assumed that D9 = 16.
Here is the entire pins.h...
guess what? theres another problem.
when i tell the bed to preheat to 75˚ it blows past and just keeps heating until it reaches 90˚ at which point I unplugged it. Some people have had similar...
This is a continuation of an earlier thread when my ps blew. I also had to move my heated bed control to D9, which I'm guessing is the origin of my problems.
Basically, when I tell the bed to...
ok everyone,
i tested with my other ramps, which worked. so i remapped the heated bed pins to D9 in pins.h on the stock ramps, and the whole thing works!
problem solved - hopefully.
thanks so much...
i have 12v going to all of the power connections on the ramps
my guess is the d8 mosfet is fried, but i will try the heated bed with my other ramps to make sure
Nope. In fact all connections to the heatbed look just fine. Maybe something on the RAMPS is broken?
I got a big 40a ps off amazon and have that running now. Everything powers on and functions as normal except for the heated bed. When I try to bring it to temp, it doesn't even get warm and I don't...
It was some stranded wire with standard insulation, bought from home depot. I checked over all the wires, no sign of any damage. Very confused as to what the cause of this is.
Thanks for all of the help everyone has given me. I will try to answer all of your questions
Some specs:
RAMPS 1.4 w/ LCD
12" Heatbed w/ built-in relay
12v 30a power supply (RIP)
14awg wire for...
I have come to realize that the fault does not lie in the power supply. I dug up another old power supply and tested it with the printer. This ps didn't turn on either. Any thoughts on what wiring...
All of the heat sink components test correctly.
The plugin under the temp sensor leads to the case fan.
The resistor between the capacitors measures 0 ohms, supposed to be a 270 ohm resistor.
I...
Yep, both legs on C4 read 0 to their respective pins.
My power supply has a manual switch to select between 110/220v inputs, I have it on 110v which is correct for my area.
I got an ohm reading of 0.00, which indicates a short if I remember correctly.
What do I do?

Let me know if anything is amiss.
Yep. My guess is that my 12" overloaded the PS and messed up something internally.
Amazon 30 day warranty is long gone, so no.
Unfortunately my hardware knowledge does not extend far into electronics, but I'm assuming that I would have to open up the case to do this? How do...
