Hmm, I've had these issues with PLA which I'm not very experienced in printing, but not with ABS. In addition to temperature tweaks, you also could try slicing at very slightly different layer...
jtice, in addition to the brim which is definitely necessary on some prints, try to lower your z endstop a little and make sure that first layer is squashing slightly on the glass to get a little...
Ah ok, well that's definitely good to know!
I bet there has got to be a way to move the axes in a more user friendly way via the firmware already build in to the RAMPS board. I haven't tinkered...
