They (makerbot) is coming with a new printer now in January, then another two during this spring.

Maybe next year they will come with a SLS, who knows. But im pretty sure you wont...

You buy the file\code to print them out. I assume you can do whatever you want with the printed result.

You can use any 1.75mm PLA filament on the Makerbot, however, only the Makerbot PLA Filament will fit inside the "chamber", as its a new type of design on the spool.

Only downside is the filament.. need makerbot filament to use it..atleast normal filament spools doesnt fit inside the printer

Just as good? Dual extruder, PLA\ABS, few more features (bluetooth etc. no big deal tbh). But yeh, i'd say a lot better ;)
Also 75micro resolution instead of 100.

I got a feeling we will see a printer and scanner, all in one.
Price? Maybe $3000-3500, deppending if theres anything new added other than just mixing them into one thing.

PLA doesnt stick to kapton tape very well.. You would need to put some painters tape of some sort if you want to print PLA on your Makerbot 2X :)
