Good evening folks.
First off, for some reason I cant post this on the marketplace. there is NO option to create a new thread. please advise, and ill happily post it there.
I am selling my CTC...
I will say, overall I think my SLA prints much faster (certainly when the part is bigger or multiple parts at the same time)
Also, because i have so fewer failures in SLA. i never have to restart,...
While I agree with a lot of what you say I dont know that 10 or 20 years is even enough to have one in every home, because the problem is not the technology figuring it out (ease of use etc) its that...
and you will never find any information... They are not printing in the mm/s number like the FDM printers are based on movement speed.
Resin is cured by a laser, so for instance 1 chess piece may...
I would like to switch to smoothie but im afraid my limited skills wouldnt let me figure out how to make the changes necessary in the firmware text file to emulate what I have today :)
except google makes my life easier, cross platform searches, knowing what I want when i want it... im ok giving google my infos ;0
so the google group is working out fairly well already.
29 members, many of them are posting... hopefully it continues to grow :)
you can just go up to the google icon in the upper right and log out of that account, and log in with a new one... no biggie.
I think we need less subgroups and more consolidation like you say. ...
I know... i posted a while back, and eddie responded that there are many reasons for having or not having sub forums... but it hasnt been created for one reason or another... No big deal... the more...
Good morning folks. A few weeks ago I made a post requesting a formlabs subforum here.. Perhaps its up for debate between mods, etc, but I just wanted to reach out and let you know ive made a google...
and not on topic per sae, but i dont think you want to use PLA for functional parts.. PLA is brittle as heck :) you want PETG or ABS :)
Good afternoon. I am getting around to cleaning out my bins...
I need to sell this 3mm filament. i sold my taz 5 and have no need for it.
All of this is new within the last 8 months, and has been...
Thanks Eddie.. biggest reason i Ask is this is the largest printing forum I know of (well done) and to not have it represented is hard to find info that isnt so formlabs heavy..Their forums are fine,...
The most popular SLA printer on the market by a HUGE margin and there is no subforum? Id love to have that so we can get some unbiased discussions going :) im in the market for a form 2
One chess piece of this size/ about an hour... 8 on the plate at once, about 6-8 hours... the more you put on the faster, because the peel move is the time killer most times.
I may buy a form 2...
its just makerjuice SF :)
came out great
I actually just sold one of my printers, I am down to 2. my gmax and this ctc
So as promised... pictures of the chess pieces printed out... They turned out better than ever... I think it has to do with using the good PDMS vat vs the FEP fat... quality is really really good....
not to derail from the sandblasting (because ive almost built a cage 2-3 times, but i dont want to waste the money if i wont use it) but the gmax printers are beasts. overall ive owned 9 printers,...
Ok... so i just busted this thing out again after a long break.. It is really incredible how well it works.... Im printing an entire chess set , 32 pieces in 4 total prints. QUality is pretty...
strangely enough that had an adverse effect... I ran at 40mm/s print speed, 40mm/s travel speed, and 50mm/s retraction speed and it was one of the worst tests I had run... lots of stringing and globs...
Thanks aardvark. I too get great quality prints, but if I had 10 things on the huge platform, it may not look great due to movement between parts, although it got MUCh better with m y testing. I...
SOLD
This is a copy and paste from my ebay listing. Price would be around $2000 if someone from here wanted it.. Free shipping... You would save about $1200 off what the items cost new...
Up...
coasting makes it worse... damm..
ok.. ran a couple more tests. one with a higher value of 2.0 for the retraction distance.. it made it worse.
then from the stock 1.2 that i was using down to .7 and it made it better again......
so i went with extrusion width .4 (not automatic).
multiplier .93
layer height .2
first layer 100%
XY movement of 40mm/s to match printing speed.
Results are better .
Its probably considered...
