In my experience, it's nearly set and forget. I'm sold.

As shipped, the Makerfarm i3V z-switch setup is so frustrating, that I immediately took on the effort (investment in time and intense...

Roxy and sniffle, thank you. That's the key I was missing... G28 must be followed by G29; they work together for proper ABL.
    - I mean, it's obvious now that you say it... and it's obvious in...

Just to close this out, somewhat...

I don't understand why, but I am printing successfully after a G29 command again. I started over from scratch with a new DL of the firmware, and changed the...

Excellent. I had it set exactly backwards... thank you.
  5. Stupid question: How is my bed oriented?

I'm trying to figure out my ABL G29 issues, and realized that the following lines in Configuration.h are _probably_ important.

// Uncomment one of the following four lines so the Bed...
  6. Auto Bed Leveling G29 problem (what am I missing?)

    Well, I'm stumped.

I was auto-bed-leveling like a champ with Clough42's Itty Bitty Dual extruder, but recently I put aside that excellent assembly and installed a single extruder with his ABL...

How are you stepping down the 12v from your power supply?

(I wish I could "star" various posts on this board and view them all together.)

Thank you. I swear, up until several minutes ago... there were only two options: Auto and AMA0... now the ACM0 port is available and working.
  9. Octoprint can't connect to printer

I was previously able to use Octoprint on my Raspberry B+ with the baud rate of 115200 (I think). After upgrading the Makerfarm/Ramps to the Itty Bitty Dual extruder, I can't connect at any rate.

    Bingo. An excellent diagnosis.

A wire had indeed broken off at the solder point of the z-limit switch. I need to refine my skills at strain relief around that probe.
    Thank you AbuMaia!

    Z-Printing into space...

Ugh. I don't know what I did recently to bork the printer but it's printing several inches above the bed... and using the firmware controls to auto-home, it continues to climb higher each time.

*TopJimmyCooks* did you solve this? I'm running into some centering issues myself after setting up ABL. So many attributes available, it's hard to determine what's what.

    Solved.

My print fan is new for the double extruder build, and is apparently quite effective.

When a small part is printed in the center of the heated bed (which is directly above the...
  14. Thermal Runaway Protection (Dual Extruders)

I enabled thermal runaway protection after reading the comments in the "Configuration.h" file about fires and mayhem. It seemed prudent. Surprisingly, I can't seem to find much info about the...

It does complete both routines. On G28, it moves to X, Y, then near center of bed and Z. On G29 it maps the glass in a 3x3 grid and retracts the probe, leaving the extruder in the last position of...

Finally printed, assembled, and wired up on my Makerfarm i3V 10" with polulu 14 motors, hxt-900 servo, 1.75 hexagons, and a geetech fan expander. I have the heated bed on a relay. Using Repetier with...

This was a helpful tip, especially since I ordered the Geetech before realizing there were so many alternative flavors of fan extenders.
