Unfortunately, the mounting threads appear to not be metric.
The extruder is simple enough that I can't see how there's anything wrong with mine, unless both motors actually got suddenly weak. Seems like it might be a mainboard parameter got messed up or...
I bought some nozzles on eBay, and they did require drilling them out to fit the PTFE tubing. A 3mm drill comes in handy for cleaning the heat tube, as well.
There is no source of parts for the CTC that I've found. The eBay sellers evaporate after selling a few of them. I'm not exactly sure how identical it is to the FF, so I've only bought generic parts...
I've lost the formula, somehow. I've made lots of okay prints over the months. I've rebuilt both extruders (new PTFE of precise length), nozzles cleaned, all tightened, cleaned drive wheel. I've...
Thanks. It eventually got it. I found it was easier to time the "release" of the rest button with hitting enter. It was nearly simultaneous.
I've tried to upgrade my CTC to Sailfish with no luck. Maybe I just haven't gotten lucky with the reset button timing, but before I wear the switch out, which choices do I make?
For"board" I've...
Does anyone know if the CTC will work correctly with the Sailfish firmware? Is there any compelling reason to upgrade?
I have a kapton covered aluminum plate. Total thickness of about 1/8".
I'd assume since the PTFE tube increases the complexity, the all metal must be inferior, or they'd junk the PTFE to save...
Mine has the PTFE tubes inside the heat tube. I've replaced it many times over the few months I've been printing. I bought some 3mm twist drills that I use to ream out the tube and nozzle, as well....
I was assembling the nozzle last. I'll try your suggestion. Thanks again.
Thanks for the response. I was contemplating taking it off so I could get a wrench on the thing to tighten the nozzle, but I won't do that! Maybe I'll print a special socket or something. I'm...
I have the CTC clone of the FF Creator. Anyone know why the hotend is wrapped in kapton tape? The thermocouple is attached via screw, so the only thing I can imagine is that it's to reduce the heat...
