You shouldn't need the spool holder at all - I run most of mine now just with it hanging over the side to reel that sits on rollers...
I think you knocked a cable back into position TBH.
Ahh good to hear, they can be a little touchy also, if you can push it with your finger and the light comes on then it's working, sometimes the metal arms just get bent down from being used so much...
Yeah, I did not see a light come on at all..
They are cheap to replace, Im pretty sure the dreamer uses these..
At about $5-$8, buy a few spare just incase..
example...
So the metal tubing that slides through the hole on the horizontal bar is loose and won't tighten with the small hex nut at the back of the bar?
Sounds like your end stop switch is faulty or broken, the motor doesn't know when to stop so the motor makes a horrible noise because it's trying to move in a direction it cannot, very much like me...
I wish I could sorry, perhaps someone with a new flashforge could. As far as I know, the newer flasforges have a fatter steel pipe and a tubing piece inside to guide the filament down to the nozzle....
You solved it yourself :)
That exact problem you are having is the exact problem I have with flexible filament, in this thread, check my picture lol, its very similar with the white wrapping...
I bought my first replacement off flashforge for nearly $400, Ebay about $150-$200
eg.....
Why not replace the entire extruder? its a pretty inexpensive process if you buy a generic one.
I am at 1960 hours on my FF, and so far only the extruders and nozzles packed it in, a couple of motors.. nothing that couldn't be bought anywhere, But don't buy it of Flashforge, really - they are 3...
Yeah good point, you know I never really even thought about the weight of the head, I just sort of assumed naturally it was more an extrusion issue with the head moving too fast to extrude efficiently
Missed this one originally, sorry..
I wondered about that also. When you hit default in makerware, its feeding at 90ms.
Can any of you guys print that fast? and I mean actually in some form of...
I have this same issue with my mini kossel, but not with the flashforge. I do run PLA at 200c usually tho, so that could help even just a few degrees. I have noticed now after using PLA alot, it...
PLA and blue tape is just a good as a stick as any, will make a video this weekend when i have time
I think I will probably go with 0.5mm nozzle, since if I am printing gigantic things,0.2mm really is good enough for me
I really am starting to loathe kickstarters. I wish kickstarter was around...
Im building a prusa i3 and a kossel mini, with the hopes that one of them is easier than the other to turn into a gigantic 3D printer. I want to make an industrial size printer for as little money...
Nah, they do admit mistakes, like I mean the filament was not really something they could deny, so I can't comment on other things other people may have experienced, but they did come good in the end...
Nope, I am still yet to find a chemical solvent I can flush the nozzle out with it, and thus another reason I am swapping over to a home built now.
When I wasn't aware the filament was bad, I...
Do you mean the very first line it does from right to left before the print starts? On makerware that is meant to happen, just cleaning the nozzle out before the print and it does it off the platform...
Makerware works faster than Repg, about 5 x faster.
Use Kapton tape, I find it works 10x better and I get a much better finish on my models.
Sure, I created a new thread since it might be helpful for a few people..

TBH I am still having similar ongoing issues from bad filament leaving foreign particles in my nozzles from faulty filament ordered from flashforge...
Right now their #1 fan has dropped to the...
Can you let us know what steps you have taken already to try and fix it?
