You shouldn't need the spool holder at all - I run most of mine now just with it hanging over the side to reel that sits on rollers...

Ahh good to hear, they can be a little touchy also, if you can push it with your finger and the light comes on then it's working, sometimes the metal arms just get bent down from being used so much...

Yeah, I did not see a light come on at all..

They are cheap to replace, Im pretty sure the dreamer uses these..

Sounds like your end stop switch is faulty or broken, the motor doesn't know when to stop so the motor makes a horrible noise because it's trying to move in a direction it cannot, very much like me...

I wish I could sorry, perhaps someone with a new flashforge could. As far as I know, the newer flasforges have a fatter steel pipe and a tubing piece inside to guide the filament down to the nozzle....

That exact problem you are having is the exact problem I have with flexible filament, in this thread, check my picture lol, its very similar with the white wrapping...

Why not replace the entire extruder? its a pretty inexpensive process if you buy a generic one.

Yeah good point, you know I never really even thought about the weight of the head, I just sort of assumed naturally it was more an extrusion issue with the head moving too fast to extrude efficiently

PLA and blue tape is just a good as a stick as any, will make a video this weekend when i have time

Do you mean the very first line it does from right to left before the print starts? On makerware that is meant to happen, just cleaning the nozzle out before the print and it does it off the platform...

Makerware works faster than Repg, about 5 x faster.

Use Kapton tape, I find it works 10x better and I get a much better finish on my models.
