I'm pretty sure that when the only place you can find any reference to a product by name is on an aliexpress sales page it's a complete gamble that you will get anything that works at all let alone a printer that works at any great level of quality.

Not to dismiss Aliebaba or Aliexpress out of hand, I've bought products from them before and have mostly been satisfied with them, but I also enjoy casual gambling.

Yes I agree they proberbly too cheap to be true I don't fancy forking out £600 on a half tidy one there seem to be hundreds of different printers out there 90% out of my price range

As I've recently said in another thread, there are a whole lot of printers in the sub-$500USD range (roughly sub-£600 range if taxes aren't accounted for) that are coming "Soon"... but ones that are available now are, well, there's only a few kits in the price range right now.

In six months, you'll likely have a range of printers to choose from, but not right now.

Really, for the last six months it has been really frustrating in that way, and the next four to six months will probably be just as difficult, as more and more announcements are made about better and cheaper printers that also won't be available for another year or two. It's one of the downsides of the crowdfunding movement, really. So much news about technology products that are annoyingly far from completion.

in the uk, there are any number of sub£500 printers and printer kits.
You just need to make sure what you buy is warehoused in the uk. That way you usually get free postage and no import tax.

Fully built flashforge/makerbot clones can be had for £440 including filament and postage. Warehoused in london, generally only take a few days to get to you

Whoops, I've demonstrated that I can't do math except in hindsight, $500USD is £330... not the other way around.

Though the way y'all talk about your taxes and shipping, 600 British Pounds might not be far off for a $500 printer from the US.
