3D printing of food is coming along, and 2015 looks like it might just be the year that more materials than just those with paste-like textures can be extruded. 3Digital Cooks --a website dedicated to news, information, and recipes for 3D food printing -- has been working on a dry food 3D printer design. Most of their dry material extruder is 3D printed, and at the center of the extruder is a pipette tip attached to a holder. Using three motors to vibrate the extruder, they attached the piece to a delta 3D printer to test their device. So far, results have been promising, as granular sugar has been successfully printed.
