Japan is watching 3D printing rise in popularity, and the country is getting its next generations ready to lead the new technology as it grows. t-o-f-u design, a two-person design team comprised of full time car designers, appealed to the 4-to-8-year-old demographic at the 2014 Maker Faire in Tokyo. They had 11 children each design a side view of a car, then rendered those designs using Autodesk Alias, and had them 3D printed by INTER-CULTURE, which used a 3D Systems Sinterstation HiQ. The kids were then able to color their cars and push them around a track. The design team is looking forward to future collaborations in 3D printing.
