3D Print Your Pets, Dogs, Cats, Turtles, Bird, Rabits, etc

There are dozens of companies out there who are 3D printing 'mini-me's' of people. The idea has actually become quite popular. What about 3D prints of our beloved pets though? Up until now this has not been something readily available. Thanks to a new company called PetPrints, we can all now send photos of our pets into the company and have a 3D printed sandstone figurine of our pets delivered to our door. Various sizes are available, and people have had their cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, birds, and even turtles printed. More details on this service can be found here: http://3dprint.com/17042/petprints-3d-print-pets/

Yeah this photo extrusion thing seems to be cathcing on.
The mcor stand at tct had abunch of 3d photographs where the subjects head was 3d out of the print.

have to admit it does look very effective :-)

    Hi
Just wanted to mention that there are several companies that are active in this space, such as Arty Lobster (http://www.artylobster.com) and Petfig (http://petfig-en.3dwave.net/).
Here are some images of dog figurines from my company Arty Lobster:

Nice idea. I've been trying to scan my own dog with 123d catch for months now no success...

I am offering such services myself, there’s already intense competition in this niche, the idea is fantastic indeed and there is demand but the competition is really making it hard. I believe that once there will be more materials available + affordable costs, more consumers will purchase such objects. Clearly it is only a matter of time until people will be able to scan & print their own pet's easily at their own home printer.
