Dr. Who Printed on a Form 1+
Doctor Who may just be the most popular show on TV these days, capturing the imagination since the first Doctor's debut in 1963. Half-a-century later, Peter Capaldi is playing the Doctor's twelfth incarnation (depending how you count), and is bringing his own sharp-eyebrowed spin to the character. Designer James Cain has created a metallic-looking bust of Peter Capaldi to commemorate the actor's first completed season on the show, and it looks almost museum-quality. After designing the bust in Zbrush, Cain used his Form 1+ 3D printer to bring the piece to life. After the print -- which was done in pieces that each took 4-5 hours to print -- was complete, he used Rub 'n Buff to add the metallic finish to the piece.
