3D Printed Insect Traps Being Developed in Florida
A scientific research team with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is working on a design for a 3D printed insect trap to replace the conventional glue traps used to catch harmful pests that can potentially damage billions of dollars worth of crops. The 3D printed traps designed to catch a specific insect, the Asian citrus psyllid. This particular psyllid spreads citrus greening disease in Florida’s orange groves and can have a devastating impact.
