Intense Moments Frozen in Time With Large-scale 3D Printed Art

3D designer and sculptor Eyal Gever's "Sublime Moments" series is made up of artworks inspired by natural phenomena and destruction, capturing moments in time and freezing them in sculpture. Using Stratasys' Objet1000 3D printer, the pieces come to life with a high level of resolution and precise detail, with smooth surfaces and material variety that allows the frozen moments to really pop. In their third and final artist collaboration on display at EuroMold 2014 this week in "The Sixth Element" collection, Stratasys has four pieces of Gever's series in their Frankfurt booth. The four pieces -- PIECE OF OCEAN, WATERFALL, SPHERE POP, and COLLISION | TRUCK VS TRUCK -- showcase the Objet1000's capabilities to create highly detailed pieces of art. It looks incredible but it also looks like computer renderings rather than photos. Where is the reflection under the purple balloon?
I also wonder where he got the budget from, printing all these pieces on that scale may cost 100's of thousands if not a million dollars..
