Today marks the opening of a brand new research hub in Australia, set for R&D in the metal additive manufacturing field. Jointly funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and industrial partners, the center opened today in Melbourne with a $9 million (AUD) fund. The ARC Research Hub for Transforming Australia's Manufacturing Industry through High Value Additive Manufacturing has a mouthful of a name and an international scope. Led by Monash University's Professor Xinhua Wu, who brings a background in both 3D printing and the aerospace industry, the hub is a collaboration between academic and industrial fields.
