French Man 3D Prints a Replical of his Fiance
A young French maker, Le FabShop's Samuel N. Bernier, 3D printed a life-size replica of his fiancée using a Shapify 3D-scanning photo booth and a MakerBot printer at the Autodesk Pop-Up Gallery in Paris. The process was part of a demonstration of 3D printing capabilities by the France-based 3D printer distributor and maker company, Le FabShop. The full statute weighs in at around 20 pounds and took a whopping 500 hours of print time to create the 7 individual pieces that were assembled into the piece. Bernier recorded the process, if anyone wants to replicate it for their own future spouse, on Instructables. Check out more in the full article: http://3dprint.com/25404/3d-print-person/

The fiance herself looks surprisingly okay with (even amused by) the existence of her white plastic doppelganger.
