    3D Printed Mini Arcade Machine

Instructables user diygizmo has presented us with the plans for 3D printing a mini-arcade. You can download and 3D print and paint the parts yourself, or order them from Shapeways in a variety of colors. The fun gadget is connected to a Raspberry Pi, using the audioboard and speakers from an MP3 player, and is completed with a series of fun and simple steps for decorating and wiring the functional mini-arcade. For more details, look over to the full article: http://3dprint.com/22785/instructable-mini-arcade/

You should also mention if you want to make one, you need to fork out $93 alone for the plastic case from shapeways, let alone the parts, this thing all up will cost nearly $200. I think we could make our own considerably cheaper. His looks pretty good tho, it would be a challenge to get the finish looking that pro.

    I didn't think of that!

Being super critical, if he was going to go to that extraordinary amount of effort, you think he would have done mini coins and a mini coin slot.

Says you can download the stl files.
Although I can't find any files for the parts to download anywhere.
You're still going to need a screen and speakers etc. But should be less than $200.

I do have a raspberry pi that I have bugger all use for.
This and the portabe console project are definitely good ideas.

have to admit this looks a lot simpler than the portable console. But just as functional.

And no, if I ever make one it probably won't get painted, or varnished. Decals can be downloaded and printed so I'd probably do that.

But unless you can print the bits yourself - it's too much money.

Plus adafruit sell something similiar - including all the electronics for $120 Just add the r-pi.
