3D printed insoles are nothing new, but one man named Steve Wood (a member of this forum), along with Recreus, the maker of Filaflex, has come up with a method of 3D printing insoles on traditional FFF-based 3D printers, more specifically the Lewihe Sneaker 3D printer. Using the flexible filament Wood created prototypes of different insoles that he plans to show to various podiatrists and insole manufacturers that showed interest in using Filaflex for their business at the recent TCT show. It should be interesting to see if this catches on. Who knows, maybe our next podiatrist visit will encompass a 3D printing experience.
