Powder plastic and Metal 3D printing .. Any of them Open sourced ?

Hi 3Ders,
after working on plastic filament extrusion 3D printers .. what is the next step ??
to me I have stepped levels of being developed
1- plastic filament extrusion 3D printing
2- double extrusion of filament
3- multi-colored filament extrusion 3D printing
-------------------------------------------
4- Powder plastic 3D printing
5- multi-colored powder plastic 3D printing
-----------------------------------------
6- printing with other materials than plastics
and I dream someday I can print with metals

what are the steps here which we can say: they are open sourced now !?!?
