Fortune Magazine Names 3D Systems CEO in Top 50 Biz People


ROCK HILL, SC, Dec 9, 2013 – 3D Systems announced today that its CEO, Avi Reichental, made Fortune Magazine's 2013 list of top people in business, ranking number 22. The annual list recognizes the top 50 business leaders "who defied expectations, executed big turnarounds, and delivered stellar results for their shareholders."

Fortune points out that, "Longtime CEO Reichental is reaping the rewards of the 3D printing frenzy; revenue for the first nine months of the year climbed more than 40%." For the second year in a row, the company also made Fortune Magazine's 2013 list of the fastest-growing companies, climbing up to number 2 in tech and number 5 overall out of 100 global companies listed. Fortune points out that "even in stagnant times certain companies thrive, and the annual list of high achievers shines the spotlight on the most vibrant parts of our global economy."

Fortune highlighted that, "3D printing, is being increasingly used to create cost-effective models and real parts for machines and end-use products. 3D Systems designs and sells printers and associated materials and services for both home and commercial use. In mid-2012, it doubled its R&D expenditures and improved marketing to expand its products and boost sales. Those efforts seem to be paying off."
