Lolo & Galago, a London based fine jeweler, is getting ready to take 3D printing for jewelery one step ahead by eliminating the wax casting method used in contemporary 3D printing. Working with a company in Switzerland, they are hoping to produce their next luxury collection by using direct metal printing to produce a collection that is 'direct from print.' In this process, the 3D printer is loaded directly with precious metal which then employs the classic additive manufacturing concept by printing repetitive layers of the metal until the work of jewelry is complete.
