Edible Growth - 3D Printed, Growing Pastries

Dutch Industrial design student, Chloe Rutzerveld creates nutritious and beautiful 3D-printed food. In the tradition of Dutch baking, the tiny pastries are made using Rutzerveld's Edible Growth 3D printer. Layers of the basic ingredients are laid down and in 5 days a bit-size, croquette-like piece of edible art is ready to eat. The young student developed the technical aspects of the project with TNO (Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research), an independent research association with centers across the globe. more details on this incredible project can be found here: http://3dprint.com/17305/edible-growth-3d-print

And I imagine that the picture there is as close as anyone got to eating one before hesitating, saying "nope" and putting it back down.
