Printing issues
Hi,
I'm very new to 3D printing, still trying to learn the terminology and figuring out things. I recently bought a Creality K1 Max, I was able to print a few models no problem, but my last few attempts to print have all had the same issues. It looks like the printed layers start to curl, almost like if they were being burnt, so they curl and create a big mess, so I've had to cancel the printing. I thought it was the nozzle temperature, and reduced it from 220c to 200c, the bed temperature is at 50c.
I don't know what to look for, any tips are welcome.
I'm using PLA+ black.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Just a couple of questions before I offer any advice.
What slicer are you using?
When you say burnt and curling up, at about what layer does this start to happen?
Are you having issues with adhesion at all?
Anyway, based on the information you've shared, I would say you're correct in thinking that you're running too hot. But I don't think you went far enough in your reduction. Try printing at the lowest temp shown on your PLA roll, which is 190 for the brands I use. I mean this should end any over temp or melty appearance you are seeing.
As for the curl, it would really help if you could post a screenshot of what you're seeing.
What layer height are you running? If the temp takes care of the brunt look, maybe try running a thicker layer if you're seeing too much squish. .2 makes a decent print and I believe is the standard in many slicer programs for PLA and .4 nozzles. If you're not running .2 try printing at .2 or even .25 see if that eliminates the squish. Once you establish a baseline for your printer you can start to play with the settings a bit more to develop a range of settings that work best for your environment, the type of prints you're printing, and the brand or type of filament you're using. I'll use myself as an example, I use Creality PLA fairly consistently. I know black works best for me at 190 and green at 195 to 200 depending on infill, and perimeter/wall settings.

Hello,Thanks for your response. I'm using Creality Cloud. I adjusted my settings by increasing the nozzle temperature from 220°C to 230°C, lowering the bed temperature from 50°C to 45°C, and reducing the print speed—Creality Cloud’s next available option was 50% speed. With these adjustments, I was able to successfully print again. Here are some pictures of one of the failed prints I posted on Reddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/...ontext=3Thanks again!
