Need advice for a new printer
Hello, After having dabbled in 3D printing for a few years I would like to take a big step forward and print professional parts, and I need advice. I have a Prusa MK3S, it’s good but not suitable for this next use because my parts need to be very tough as they are functional mechanical parts, and with a good level of detail, and: - I have not been able to get a good result when printing embossed text (either on a flat surface, or on the side of a disc). - The surface finish after removing support is terrible. - Some thin parts are way too fragile, even printed with Prusament PC blend. I’ve found out that I should look for a CoreXY or resin printer to improve print quality, and multi-material for the areas that had supports. I am still not sure what would be best for me. - PrusaXL: it seems to be the best option, but for this price point is the easier-to-use and less wasteful multi-material system its only advantage over the other printers, or is there something else? - Bambu X1C: Seems very interesting, and I like that the filament spools are enclosed. Build space aside, from what I can see it looks like its only drawback compared to the PrusaXL is wasting filament when using multi-material. - Prusa Core One: I’ve also considered this one but it would need to have the multi-material upgrade, and doesn’t seem to have anything over the Bambu. - Resin printers (I do not know much about these) o Is it possible to get a nice surface look on the areas that were supported? o Can they produce parts that are tough enough for functional use? How tough are they compared to Nylon or PC? What do you think about these printers? Are there any others that would fit my needs? Thanks! [Edit: sorry about the formatting I can't find how to keep the line breaks]
