    TPU anti-adhesion

    I am working on an invention that needs to be a soft material. I have 1 already made out of 85A TPU that I made with painters tape on a smooth build plate on my Creality CR10-SE before it broke and I got my A1 Bambu, but I really don't see that being a viable large scale solution. I tried just printing it straight on the smooth build plate earlier, and I about had to get vice grips to remove it it was stuck so hard. I just got done trying putting foot powder on the plate and printing on top of that, and it was better but still not great. Could anyone advise an option for me to try? Does talcum powder work better than foot powder? It's a flat print so quite a lot of surface area that's against the build plate

    Make sure your z offset is correct and maybe if increase +.03. Do not heat the build plate, if you have a choice of build plates use a PEI powder coated plate TPU does not seem to stick as tight to that. Try printing at the lower end of the heat range for your filament. You need no squish in the first layer if that is something your slicer has in it.. and don't slow your first layer. I typically use a pair of plier to peal them up if really stuck.

    That's the plate I am using.

    If someone can send me a link to a build plate that works better I would love the feedback. The thing I am designing is a medical tool for an insulin pump, and I would love to be able to fill my place with printers and literally manufacture this thing in house in Kansas City MO and not send it to China. Be able to say every single one of these is made and hand tested by the inventor himself

    When you say don't heat the build plate, do you literally mean printing with the plate at room temp?
    That never even occurred to me but I'm gonna go try it right now

    Yes no heat.. If you are using PEI try the textured side . make sure your Z offset is correct.. clean the plate with windex between prints.. the more you print with TPU in the same place the tighter it sticks.

    I just tried printing with build plate at 30C... almost room temp and it came off easier but I still destroyed the test piece in the removal. I'm definitely still learning this machine and the slicer interface. Should I try literally no build plate heat at all? As far as Z goes I let it run the calibration on every print so that's all I know how to do for getting Z right

    Yes no heat. You can also try lowering the hot end temp so you are at the minimum range for your particular brand of TPU.. what are you using Ninjaflex or something else? When removing try to work up a corner and the peal it like a sicker holding the part with larger line-mens pliers if you have them. Can we see the part before you remove it? Why is it getting damaged TPU is strong stuff..

    sorry I am just now replying. I totally forgot I had people trying to help me with the thing! I have attached a photo of the part

I had the other layers set at lower temp before and they didn't adhere to each other well. that test piece split into several pieces on removal. I am using square infill

    can you get Teflon coated build plates? I have tried all sorts of settings and cannot achieve the low adhesion I need. Surely someone makes a plate that's intentionally low adhesion like this. I would sure love to not use the glue stick, but if I have to I will

    you can try a magnetic PEI powder coated system. TPU comes off without too much effort but you initial layer need to be exactly right no squish.. Have you tired starting your cooling fan on the first layer?
