Advice for a stand or bench

I just got a 3D printer for xmas, and I have a tendency to overthink things. The item I’m overthinking right now is a bench or table for the unit. How important is it that the bench not move? Is it it telescope-level critical, or dot-matrix-printer-level meh? What types of surfaces are people in general using? Also, any recommendations for a good table or bench obviously welcome.

have both of my enclosures sitting on top of a dress in an extra bedroom.. No they do not need to be level. they do need to be sturdy as the printer vibrates and you don't want the table rocking and rolling with it, making noise.

The printers I used just sat on a spare desk, nothing special and for the most part I got good prints off of them. It was more about the time I spent with prepping the bed, for me. When I first got into printing I saw more than a few posts saying to put a paver or some other heavy, solid, vibration dampening base under the printer. I think that was probably sound advice with older printers, and maybe if you plan to break speed records where direction change would be fighting momentum. The size of the printer may play a part in this as well. I could print at high speed with confidence on my 240 mm Prusa but Creality CR10 had a noticeable speed threshold. But I was able to print with both at the same time on that small desk. Just looking at this page here where this post is, there are printers being advertised on casters. I think it's more about the printer.

Just a follow-up, I ended up ordering this item from Amazon. Seems to work fine. Sturdy, and the printer hasn't ejected any parts, so all good.

That looks like it should do the job starting out. If it is working for your needs that's all that matters.

I pulled this video for you. Just something to consider as you get more into the hobby.
