Looking to buy a printer

Hello,

I'm fairly new to the game. Recently I had purchased a Flashforge 5M Pro. Of course, like any new printer, I was printing non-stop, testing and trialing all kinds of prints and methods. After 2 days of basically non-stop printing, except when resting, the filament feed stopped feeding. I tore the entire head apaart, but the assembly was welded and so I had to order a whole new printer head ,as the feed was unavailable. I installed the new head, and within 24 hours of printing, the exact same thing happened again. In a moment of frustration, I returned the printer. Which leads me to where I'm at now.....

I'm in the market for a printer. It's a home unit, mostly for learning and fun (I want to teach my kids how to do it). I don't necessarily have a budget, but at the same point, don't see myself dropping a bunch of money on something that is a casual use item.

I've looked at the following:
- Bambu X1C
- Flashforge 5M Pro
- Pursa XL
- Creality Sermoon D3
- Creality K1 Max AI

I have a bunch of ABS and PLA 1.75 (based on the original 5M I returned.

I guess my questions are:

1. Any suggestions? What's everyone using, that is reliable?
2. Is the feeder a verifiable issue with FF? Is it heat soak? Is there a way to use the unit and avoid the feeder issue?

I really enjoyed every aspect of the FF 5M, but with it "jamming" so often, it was basically useless.

Of the printers you mention, Prusa do their own thing and seem reliable with good after sales and back up service.

The user experience with the Bambu X1C is way in front of any of the other printers I have had, and it seems to be the benchmark that others are struggling to reach........just my personal opinion.

Bambu X1C or QIDI Max 3?

I returned my Qidi XMAX 3, the software was buggy, parts needed replacing, the heated chamber did nothing to stop prints warping, the file transfer from the USB stick was very slow and unreliable as was the touch screen.

It just seemed another rushed out product that left customers as beta testers. A physically large printer with wasted space inside. Basically another Bambu wannabe.

Thanks for the input. I had actually decided to buy the Bambu right after I asked the follow up.

I ordered the Bambu X1C with the AMS this afternoon. So now we wait.

Thank you so much for the recommendation. I bought an X1C with 2 AMS systems and a hub. I didn't have time to get it all set up before I went on vacation for a week. But I was able to get it going yesterday, and I have been printing a chute, and an AMS stand for it since then, non-stop. This machine is on a different level than what I experienced before. It's not even close. I'd recommend this thing to anyone to be honest. I mean, it's basically a plug and play unit, and pretty much does everything for you.

Again, thank you so much. I have a renewed sense of excitement to print again, taking over the frustration and dissapointment I felt in the FlashForge 5M.
