    nooby question,sorry

friend has a 3d printer, and i have an stl i wish printed, but ii want iit printed out 2-3x's larger than the object shown in stl file-is it a simple matter of him telling printer to make object twice its size when printed,or do i need an stl file of right dimensions? (would ask him but he on holiday lol, sorry if questions abit basic)

You can scale the size up or down in the slicer before you print it.
Max size will depend on printer build volume.
