Hi, but of a noob so apologies if this is obvious. What cause this sort of blobbing?

Looks to me like your nozzle/bed gap is slightly too big. This can be adjusted in your slicer settings with 'Z' offset adjustment.

Quite possible your bed level needs adjusting.
