    Dancing Beaver

I have had my first 3d printer for about week and I think its been going non-stop 24/7 the entire time. I am having a blast with it. I come with a 3d background of making and selling cnc patterns so not new to 3d but completely new to 3d printing. Thankfully, about 90% of my knowledge from cnc is transferable to printing. The whole manifold thing is new to me but I am learning. One of the several figure I have made this last week. I've also been playing around making leather stamps with the printer. Like I said, a total blast.

This figure is from a short animation I made for my wife's Twitch channel.

Thank you. If I would have known how much 3d printers are I would have gotten one years ago.

Though it really helps I have 3d modeling experience.

    And ecellent modelling skills !

Wish I could do the artistic stuff.

How are you doing the leather stamps ?

I've tried various options over the years, none have been that succesful.

    Hi,

    I got an Anycubic Mega-X.

    Thanks!

I made in 3d the negative of the model (picture enclosed) and then printed at 100% fill. I am still not sure how durable these will be long term but so far really impressed on what PLA can do. Used a clamp between two pieces of wood as the press. I haven't purchased a real press yet for my leather working.

For your efforts I would say just keep trying. They do work but for me it's still trial and error. I had to print the skull twice because the first one was too shallow.

    Regards,
    OG
