More and more, we are seeing the implementation of 3D printing in the operating room. The technology is being used by surgeons all around the world, in order to successfully plan for complicated surgeries. One doctor in Brazil, recently took a scan of a childs brain, that was born with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, and then 3D printed it. The 3D print allowed him to see exactly what needed to be done, on a tangible replica of the child's brain, which was almost exactly identical to the real brain. All in all, the surgery went very well, thanks in a large part to 3D printing. Read more about this case at: http://3dprint.com/13515/3d-printing-brain-surgery/
