    Print 3D For Me's 3D Printed Lithophanes

There are some pretty incredible things I have seen created with simple 3D printers. What Print 3D For Me is doing is one of these things in my opinion. They create 3D printed lithophanes for any picture you want. Basically for about $32, they will allow you to upload a photo, and turn it into a 3D printed lithophane, which when held up to light shows an incredibly detailed picture, but when there is no back lighting, looks like a rather bland negative of a picture. More details on how the company is working with Shapeways' API to provide a smooth ordering process, and just how they do all this can be found here: http://3dprint.com/12734/3d-print-for-me-lithophane/

Check out some examples below. Let us know if you have ordered one.

I send my son this link the other day and asked him to try to make one. I am impressed with the result!

Went to the Thingiverse page here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:74322 and used the Customizer.
