Filament Storage in Cabinet - Dri-Rod Dehumidifier ??

Currently I am storing my filament in 5 gal buckets with desiccant in them. It seems to work pretty well, but you have to keep drying out the desiccant every so often in the oven.
My printer sits on a wooden cabinet, which I would love to store the filament directly in the cabinet.
I was thinking of storing it there and adding a Dri-Rod Dehumidifier in the cabinet.
Has anyone tried one, or something similar in a setup like this?
    Dri-Rod Dehumidifier

The humidity in the room varies alot depending on the day, and if I am running the AC or heater.
    Ive seen 45 to 60%
The humidity in the cabinet, with some packs of desiccant in there hovered around the mid 50s most the time.

How can it dry air by warming it?
    It makes no sense.

Circulates air inside the cabinet. They are popular in gun safes.
Ive noticed running a small heater in a room has the same effect at times, especially on a humid day.
