It takes money to get students involved in 3D printing within the classroom, however it takes the drive of a teacher to push that technology to new heights within the learning experience. One teacher in Nanuet, NY named Vinny Garrison, has done just that. He holds an annual drag racing competition for his students, a competition which utilizes a Makerbot 3D printing in order to cut back on the weights of the miniature cars that students design and build from the ground up.
