Ender main board in Voxelab Aquila

    Anyone ever done it?
I have two Aquilas both with clone processors that are bug ridden when it comes to getting them to work well with OctoPrint and touch bed leveling. Thinking about just biting the bullet and changing out the main boards with the Ender 3 board. Thoughts?

Or you could go get a real mainboard. You know something in a 32 bit flavor that wasn't selected for your printer with a profit margin in mind. I mean that is just my thought on the subject.

Because in anything we do in this life the juice has to be worth the squeeze, right? Both printers come with a mainboard that is 3 steps below anything we could buy in the aftermarket world with with spare change. So how can we say we are gonna replace this buggy board with that extremely likely buggy board?

And when we do and then we find we still have bugs, what then?

Do we now say this must be a wiring issue with the printers frame because the problem persists after changing a part so it can not be that part?

NO. We will not be able to say that here. We will only be able to say it might be a wiring issue with the printer, OR it might well just be another POS mainboard. See my point? If we are trying to correct a problem it is good to spend your time swapping in a known good part. Just because time is a greater resource than money. I have swapped many of mainboards in my day. But I am a long time away from playing with an 8 bit mainboard. There is just no good reason to waste your time with it today. You can get 32 bit mainboards dirt cheap from a number of places. Don't waste your time on garbage. Just remember..

Thought I had posted this but when I came back it was gone, the spam post is the only reply I can see.

Anyway, both manufactured are now using 32bit processors, the difference. Is Ender is using a real Antel chip and Voxelab is using a clone.

Interesting to know they have stepped up to 32 bit processors but in true 3d printer manufacturer form they are using the cheapest lowest performing 32 bit ic that can be found or had.

Like I challenge you to show me a lesser 32 bit processor used in a 3d printer mainboard below STM32F103.

But I would definitely go after the quality made ic over a clone any day. Good call on that.

I mean, to answer the question directly.
The aquilas is pretty much an ender 3 clone, so no reason the board won't work.

Me I'd use my money on a second z axis screw and fix the biggest problem with the ender design.
It's not the only serious design issue, but it is by far the worst.

Autowiz knows a lot more about boards than I do :-)

So far the Z seems to be doing OK, when it becomes an issue I'll do something.

Received an Ender board today. Need to decide which Aquila to attack first. Not real sure what to expect, not worried about the actual swap I can handle just about anything with the hardware and wiring. Just hoping I don't run into some weird setting, I don't understand.
