    Sending files with USB connection?

    Hi all,
Just got my first 3d printer from a friend where it had been collecting dust. I am trying to print a test file to make sure it is operating properly, but I do not know how to print a file through the USB connection. All I know about it is its an ALUNAR with print size 220*220*230. There is an SD card in it, but I do not have anything to directly plug that in to transfer files. I tried using Cura and Repetier, but it will not detect it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am itching to get it running!

    you need repetier.
It's the only free slicer and communications suite combination.

Simplify3d is the ideal, but it's expoensive.

Actually you NEED an sdcard reader :-)

that one will not only take full size and micro sd cards, but will connect to both a pc and tablet/phone as well.

The printer is a prusa mk1 i3 clone. Actually not a bad machine at all.

But printing from an sd card is sooo much more reliable than printing via usb.

Anyway try repetier, it should at least get you up and running while you wait for the card reader to arrive :-)
