Lightbulb A new kind of nozzle

    Hi everyone!

So, I have created what I believe to be one of the best 3D printer nozzles out there. It took me literally 3 years from my first prototype to now.

It is made with a special, smooth inner geometry designed to minimize extrusion resistance and wear. It is made out of a very special titanium molybdenum alloy designed for professional injection molding nozzles. It is Swiss made, literally by a company making watch parts, so it's to the highest quality standards.

In my test, printing carbon fibre infused nylon (Filamentum CF15 Carbon), the nozzle was able to easily print 3 times more than a standard brass nozzle before the diameter of the 0.4mm nozzle increased by 0.2mm. I would like to retry this test once I have a production unit.

To achieve this special inner geometry I need to get production tooling done (the prototype tooling simply won't cut it). In order to ensure that there is enough interest in the project I put it as a product on my website. You can preorder it and you only pay once the nozzle is ready to be delivered, so you have no risk. It will cost 25$, approximately the region of E3D's nozzle X. This will just cover my costs for now. It is more of a passion project.
I hope I can lower the cost if I manage to increase the production volume.

Link to my website for more infos and preorder: https://imarkindustries.com/product/...zzle-preorder/

If you have any suggestions or questions, I would be happy to hear them!

3x times longer than a brass nozzle doesn't sound like much.

Pretty sure the hardened steel nozzles I've got last longer than that and would be around the same price (If I'd bought them ;-)

How does it stack up to the olsen ruby nozzle ?
I mean that's currently £75 - so only real hardcore people would go for that.

I said at least 3 times, because I don't want to overpromise it. Once I got the final production unit I will be able to do a more scientific test to determine its exact properties. Once I do that I will try to document that in depth.

My aim is to create a good competitor the the olsen ruby at less than a third of the price. Most olsens that I know of didn't fail because of wear, but because of clogs or the ruby just fell out.
The "secret sauce" of my nozzle really is the geometry which is unlike the classical 2 drillbit approach.

to be fair that's the bit I'd be interested in anyway.

I don't envisage printing with carbon fibres anytime soon - just never been impressed with the stuff.
It's not conductive enough to worth bothering with and it's not any stronger. Just makes nylon a little stiffer.

But if the nozzle geometry helps extrusion speed up and it helps clean up retractions for, say flexible filaments and pet-g - Now there you've got a much larger potential market.

And I volunteer for testing :-)

This is an Issue with DNS propagation.
I recently updated the DNS and SSL settings and it takes a while to be updated everywhere.
    Thanks for bringing it up.

I have no influence on the nameservers. In the meantime you can manually visit imarkindustries.com

I'm so sorry for any inconveniences

yeah it basically an http versus https issue.

http sites are as fine as they were last week abd the 20 odd years preceeding.

But browser coders are paranoid you'll blame them when you do something stupid. hence all the panic messages.

I believe we managed to fix it. Also, the IP v6 configuration was completely messed up... my bad
