A couple of questions about 3D printing

I am looking into making my own 3D printer, but I am on a very tight budget.

Currently, I am looking at some kits I found on eBay. (I don't need 100% super high quality from the printer, just something that works that I can print some small things with)

Do these have everything I need to make a printer? Or will I need something else. Would it be better to buy a prebuilt one like the M3D or something?

What you are indicating here are the components required to provide and control the movement of a 3D printer. If I wanted to buy these things to build a printer, I'd buy this one:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SainSmart-Ram...095fc09&_uhb=1 Because it includes the stepper motors.

These components are the most expensive item in your BOM. However, you will still need to purchase smooth and threaded rods; a power supply (convert an computer PSU), and plywood to make the printer frame. (I suggest you build a Prusa i3 printer as the cutting plan for the frame is available on-line. You will also need to buy nuts and bolts to assemble the whole lot.

Having said that, I think that you could come out of the project after spending somewhere between $US200 and $US250.

I just went through this myself. After owning a prebuilt one for a while and rebuilding it several times, I feel ok to build my own now, so I got a PrusaI3 kit, the perspex framed one - all components inc LCD screen, glass bed etc.. $432 inc postage.

The Rods and everything else I found were the issue, that's why I opted for just buying a full unassembled kit, I looked at buying all the stuff individually and it was going to work out to around $350 AU for what I wanted, so I thought for the extra $50, lets just buy a box with all the bits AND a frame so I can actually build it straight away.

It doesnt come with an LCD screen but they were going to throw in 2 rolls of filament, I said no. lol please, no free filament, throw in the LCD and we have a deal.
